Cordelia the duck

Cordelia the duck should have gone to Specsavers. Cordelia ate some twine used for hay bales . This needed removing so Cordelia was given a general anaesthetic and put on a ventilator during the operation.
The photograph shows 1/2 of the twine removed from Cordelia. One hole had to be made in her crop and another one in her stomach (proventriculus) to remove the twine.
The frayed end was in the stomach and had knotted itself up making it impossible to remove without surgery. Immediately after surgery Cordelia had energy rich fluids then soft food for a few days
This is Cordelia 5 days after the operation. She is now back on pellets gained weight and much happier.
